Ching Shih in Space - animatic

I made an animatic from the storyboard of the Ching Shih story. I drew all the frames separately on  Photoshop before putting them together. I also redrew the cosmic dragon which I think looks a lot better this way.

Rosie the Riveter - development

Here are some developmental pictures of Rosie the Riveter. Some have been textured to look like rough grain paper. To try to imitate Mary Blair's style I used a rough edge brush. This was hard at first as I had never used a different brush on Photoshop before but I after experimenting with the brush I found a way to use it that worked for me.

This is concept art for the character Rosie the Riveter based off the 1940's icon. I like how this looks however the final design will be in the style of Mary Blair.

Ching Shih in Space storyboard

I made a storyboard for a story about the pirate Ching Shih set in space. The frames are the wrong dimensions which I will fix when I make the animatic. The cosmic dragon also needs redrawing as it looks quite messy..

These are some backgrounds I made showing only the tonal values. The first one had bold colours and a high contrast whereas the second is a lot subtler. 

This is a background I made on photoshop using a limited colour palette by using only purples, blues and green.
