James Henry Designs

I did some concept ideas for a show James Henry pitched to the BBC. Here are some development images.

I then tried drawing the main characters aimed at a younger audience.
Then I decided to aim the style at an older audience.
I wanted to make the axe more unique so I had it made out of opal (like her name) instead of metal. I also made Redthred's robe shorter and mixed in more modern elements to his clothes. I made an image of them together to show the height comparison.

Here is the development and final of bus to be driven by trolls.

Restorative Justice

We did a project for a restorative justice company to make an animation explaining what they do. I can up with an idea and made a storyboard.
I then started working on a different idea by another group and made some backgrounds for them.

I then started working on a cardboard set for another group's idea.

Crew Project

For the crew project I did backgrounds for a third year story called Leap and Cottongrass, a stop-motion animation with A3 backgrounds.
First I drew the outlines and checked that they were the right proportions that were needed for the set.

I then coloured the backgrounds using watercolours and cut out the window shutters so that they could be manually opened during the stop motion.

Riveting - proof of concept shot

I made this to show that the style was able to be animated. Some of the sounds are slightly out of sync but I think it still works.
