Alphabet Patch - shed

Here are some initial sketches for a shed design.



Using these ideas I digital version of the shed on a background made by the creator of Alphabet Patch.

I then made some improvements by adding more textures that resemble the style. I also edited the hill to have one flat side.

Alphabet Patch - transitions

I am working on a third year project called Alphabet Patch. My role mostly consists of script writing and story development, however here are some rough transition designs I have done

I then made them digital using Photoshop



After receiving some feedback I then made the final version which imitate the art style of the rest of Alphabet Patch.

The Rush Job

We were given a task to come up with an idea for a Christmas advert (like the John Lewis ones) for a fictitious site similar to amazon. We worked in groups with members from the film&TV course.
We had four days to create an animatic with sound. This is the final video.

My role was making the frames for the section that takes place in Narnia.
I started by drawing on paper.

I then went over them in Photoshop, I also added a few extra frames in places that seemed to jump too quickly.

Death by Fruit - backgrounds

Here is a little 'logo' I made to represent 'Death by Fruit' in its new style.

I used a rough textured brush on Photoshop to try to emulate the rough texture of a vase. I wanted to stray away from it looking too smooth or digital.

I had difficulty with the borders at first because I made them too thin, trying to make sure they didn't obscure from the characters. However, there weren't visible enough. So I made the borders thicker and more obvious and I feel they work well without deterring from the scene. 

Death by Fruit - characters

For my third year project I changed the title from 'Hades' to 'Death by Fruit', because I felt that this title was catchier and better resembled the story.

I changed the style, making it more unique looking. The characters are made to look like chalk by using a rough brush of bright colour over a dark silhouette. Each character has a different colour so that they can be easily identified and distinguished.

I decided to cut Demeter and Poseidon from the script to keep it more concise and revolve around the main characters; Zeus, Hades and Persephone.
